Billingshurst Bowling Club

Club membership is open to all, we have DBS checked members, a dedicated Safeguarding Officer, together with Safeguarding policies and procedures. But please note that anyone under age must be always accompanied by a Parent or Guardian when at the green.

During the season the Club operates taster sessions to allow newcomers to drop in and have a go. The sessions are free of charge and cater for all levels from absolute beginner upwards. The dress code is casual but flat-soled shoes are essential. All other equipment is available to borrow from the Club, again free of charge.

The Club plays friendly matches against other clubs across West Sussex and Surrey during the summer months. Matches are scheduled every few days on both weekdays and weekends. In addition, the Club operates a considerable number of internal leagues and competitions. We also take part on two Cup competitions and have representatives in the County Men’s singles, pairs and Mixed Fours.

Entrance into the friendly matches and club competitions, although entirely optional, is encouraged and welcomed. We find that even those members in full-time employment are able to get out onto the green several times over the summer to enjoy some friendly competition.

Practice night or Club Night is Friday between 6pm and about dusk depending on the weather and the enthusiasm of those members present. The lure of tea & biscuits later in the session often proves too great!

Location

Billingshurst Bowling Club is next to Billingshurst Leisure Centre on Station Road. Visitors to the club may use the leisure centre’s car park.
